My friend Jenn from Ambrosia Creative has done it again. In her post over on She Knows she gives a tutorial to create the perfect collapsible cardboard playhouse. Pretty it up and give one as a gift or make one any time for your kids. LOVE this!

Simple Summer Fun - Car Cooking

So simple, but fun for kids - cooking in your car! Since the inside of your car literally gets as hot as an oven, why not use it as one!

Cardboard Collective made banana chips in a car (I may do this one this week!)

Family Chic made S'mores in their car

Baking Bites made chocolate chip cookies in her car

Is it hot enough where you are to cook in your car?

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS

A lot of times when I tell the boys I want to show them something cool it usually sarts with "Do I have to?" or "I guess" but if it ends with a smile or a "that's cool!" I call it a success. Never judge by the first reaction!

Here are a couple of fun, quick optical illusion tricks that requires very little. These are good for a restaurant or a time when the kids need to sit still.

For the first one hold your index fingers up in front of your face with a little bit of space between them (not touching your face)

Look at your fingers and then adjust your focus to something across the room. What do your fingers look like now? You should see a third floating finger!

He sees it :)

For the next one you'll need a tube of some sort. We used a paper towel roll but you could just roll up a piece of paper too.

Hold the roll up to one eye like a telescope and look at something through it. Slowly bring your other hand next to the roll like the picture. (This hand is not covering your eye there is some space in between) What do you see? It looks like there is a hole in your hand and that you are looking right through it!

(He had to come try it out too) Keep these in your "back pocket" for the perfect time.

Olympic Printables

We have Olympic fever over here. The boys love cheering for their favorites and getting to see the different sports we don't normally watch. They loved archery, fencing, gymnastics, and swimming so far. I've seen so many great printables and activities I thought I'd share some more in case you need a prescription for Olympic fever too.

Tinyme has some gorgeous free printables (sign up for free on their site for full access to all their amazing printables)

Evite has created a Summer Games Trivia Printable for us to use! They also have some gorgeous summer games invitations on their site! Download Trivia Card HERE and Answer Key HERE

I love the word games in this Summer Olympic printable from Homeschool Journeys

Have an Olympic picnic (we might have to do this today!) with these printables from Confetti Sunshine
